Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown – Graphical Options & Performance Detailed

Nvidia has managed to get an early glimpse at Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, granting PC gamers a lot of detailed information about the game’s current built, releasing  4K gameplay using a system with a GTX 1080 Ti while detailing the game’s graphical options.

Off the bat, Bandai Namco confirmed that the PC version of the game would support resolution scaling and unlocked framerates, allowing PC users to play the game at higher framerates than the console versions while offering the ability to enable supersampling using the game’s resolution scaling options.

With a 1080p screen, resolution scaling can be used to generate a 4K super-sampled image, while 4K users can enable super samples resolutions of up to 8K, delivering clearer images for players with enough graphical horsepower.

Nvidia’s gameplay footage showcases the game running at max settings, though the company has stated that graphical options for Anti-Aliasing, Bloom, Effects, Motion Blur, Post-Processing, Screen Space Reflections, and Shadows are available within the game. The title is also said to control a large number of Flight Systems, controllers, flight sticks and even keyboard/mouse control. Key rebinding is also available, which will allow players to tailor the game’s controls to their liking.

When speaking with Nvidia, Bandai Namco specifies that their recommended PC system requirements are designed to run Ace Combat 7 at 1080p Maximum settings at 60 FPS.  Nvidia has reported that their GTX 1060 (likely 6GB) based system was able to run the game at 100FPS at 1080p and over 60FPS at 1440p, though it is worth noting that Nvidia’s gameplay demo could be using a less-demanding scene within the game.

Nvidia recommends a GTX 1080 Ti or RTX 2080 graphics card or greater for 4K 60 FPS gameplay.
