Kunos Studios has officially revealed Assetto Corsa Competizione, the latest game in the Blancpain GT series of Videogames, with aims to deliver greater accuracy, photorealistic visuals and higher levels of hardware compatibility than the original Assetto Corsa.

The game is set to release on Steam Early Access this summer, with the title moving from Kunos’ purpose-built Assetto game engine to Unreal Engine 4, allowing the developer to deliver more realistic visuals while providing an accurate presentation of real-world racing environments and weather conditions.

Assetto Corsa Competizione will ship with VR functionality out of the box with all major headsets, with motion captured animations from racers and pit-stop crews and more to achieve an unparalleled degree of immersion. The game will also launch on Steam Early Access with support for a range of racing peripherals and PC accessories.

Kunos also promises to deliver enhanced multiplayer functions with a new ranking system, player rewards as well as online competitions at regular intervals. The title will also support a wide range of single-player modes, with a highly customisable AI that will allow players to continuously improve their driving skills in both standard races and special events.

Assetto Corsa Competizione is set to release this summer on Steam Early Access. At this time it is unknown how long Kunos plans for the title to remain on Early Access or what content will be missing from the game at launch.
