Bethesda releases teaser trailer for Fallout 76

Bethesda releases Fallout 76 teaser trailer

After a day of teasing, Bethesda has released their first teaser trailer for Fallout 76, a new Fallout game where players will assume the role of a citizen of Vault 76.

At this time not much is known about the game, with the trailer showcasing the inside of a seemingly intact vault with a mural marking “Reclamation Day”. After heading to Bethesda’s Fallout website, fans are told to watch Bethesda’s E3 showcase on June 10th at 6:30 PM PT (2:30 AM UK time).

This trailer confirms that Bethesda’s next Fallout Project isn’t a Fallout 3 remaster, though at this time it is unknown where Fallout 76 will fit into the broader Fallout universe. At this time it is expected that Fallout 76 will be a New Vegas-like spin-off, where an upgraded version of the Fallout 4 engine is used to create a new story within a different part of the US.

The setting of Fallout 4 is unknown, though the song used in the trailer, “Take Me Home, Country Roads”, could be suggesting that the vault is located in Virginia. Vault 76 is referenced in previous Fallout games, including both Fallout 4, Fallout 3 and its Mothership Zeta expansion.

Expect to hear more about Fallout 76 at Bethesda’s E3 2018 showcase.
