Creative Assembly Teases a Chaotic Update for the Total War Warhammer series – Warhammer 3 confirmed?

Update – This article has been updated to include more information from Creative Assembly’s latest teaser.

Creative Assembly has released three Total War Warhammer themed trailers, each of which points towards the series’s entry, Total War Warhammer III. Why do we think this is a Total War Warhammer III teaser? Because these teasers are all about the Chaos Gods.

Today we have the last of three star sign-themed trailers, each of which shows an imperial astrologist look to the sky to see what the skies/Azyr has to show him. First, there is Grungi’s Baldric, the Sign of Martial Pursuits. Second, there is the Piper, the sign of the Trickster. Third, there is the Drummer, the Sign of Excess and Hedonism, and finally, there is Khya’s Caldron, the sign of Mercy, Death, and Creation.

While these signs may mean little on their own, together they represent the four Chaos Gods and the combined might of the Ruinous Powers. In game terms, this means that The End Times are coming and that Total War Warhammer fans should expect to see more Chaos armies. Is a Daemons of Chaos army in the works?

The symbols within Creative Assembly’s trailers signify the Chaos Gods Khorne, Tzeentch, Slaanesh, and Nurgle. Given the game-changing nature of these potential Chaos factions, we believe that these trailers may be pointing towards a Total War Warhammer III announcement, as a full-on chaos daemon invasion is too much for a mere Total War Warhammer II expansion.

We expect to hear more about Creative Assembly’s plans for the Total War: Warhammer series soon.

Update – Creative Assembly have released a new trailer called “And all this on Geheimnisnacht Eve…” which teases the star sign of Urson, the patron God of Kislev. This suggests that Kislev is coming to the Total War Warhammer, finally differentiating the kingdom from Imperial factions.

At the end of the trailer, it is stated that “Something evil approaches… and it arrives tomorrow”, suggesting that Total War Warhammer III may be announced tomorrow.
