Back in 2015, Techland showed us that Zombie games could remain unique and better still, fun. The game released at a time where zombies were dangerously overdone within video games, with only a few rare instances rising to the top to become far-reaching successes.

With its well implemented first-person parkour system and visceral melee combat, Dying Light was a series that could easily translate to create some multiplayer mayhem, especially in an era where “Battle Royale” style games are skyrocketing in popularity.

This is where Dying Light: Bad Blood comes in, a side project from Techland that brings the parkour and melee combat of Dying Light and integrates it into a  PVE/PVP competitive “Brutal Royale”.

Bad Blood isn’t your average Battle Royale, no, this game doesn’t focus on guns and range combat, at least not entirely. Players will have to scavenge to succeed, and be able to beat their opponents down with whatever they can find, be it with a hammer, machete or bow and arrow.

In Dying Ligh Bad blood, twelve players are forced to battle both against zombies and their competitors to collect infected blood samples. Players will level up as the scavenge to access better weapons and medical supplies. The helicopter will only evacuate a single player, one that has every blood sample, forcing players to take out their fellow survivors to secure their ticket out of this mess.

Owners of Dying Light will be glad to know that Dying Light: Bad Blood has the same PC system requirements as the original game. Though it is worth noting that the game’s engine and graphics have been tuned to offer higher framerates and a stable online gaming experience. This makes it likely that Dying Light: Bad Blood will be easier to run than its story-driven predecessor.
