Elden Ring has a 60 FPS framerate limit on PC - Reports Bandai Namco

The PC version of Elden Ring will be limited to “up to 60 FPS framerates” on PC

Elden Ring is one of the most highly anticipated games of early 2022, acting as Bandai Namco/From Software’s successor to the Dark Souls franchise, offering players a new world, new lore and new gameplay mechanics.

Bandai Namco has revealed the “Specs and Compatability” of Elden Ring, highlighting the game’s supported framerates, resolutions, and features on PC and console platforms.

PC gamers and next-generation console players will be able to enjoy Elden Ring with “up to 60 FPS” framerates. All platforms except Xbox One will also support HDR. Additionally, PC, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5 players will be able to play Elden Ring with ray tracing, a feature that will arrive in the game “via patch”.

On PC, Bandai Namco has stated that Elden Ring will support up to 4K resolutions and “up to 60 FPS” gameplay. Unlike most PC games, Elden Ring apparently does not support an unlocked framerate option. In our opinion, this is a colossal mistake for Bandai Namco and From Software to make, as it prevents PC gamers from exploiting their hardware to achieve higher/smoother framerates if their PCs are up to the task.

At this time, Bandai Namco and From Software have not confirmed how Ray Tracing will be used to enhance Elden Ring’s visuals on PC, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

Below is Elden Ring’s newest gameplay footage. It showcases many of the RPG’s new mechanics, highlighting how the game’s combat relies on well-timed parries and dodges.
