Fable has been announced for PC and Xbox Series X

Microsoft and Playground Games has confirmed that a new Fable game is in development for PC and Xbox Series X, acting as a ‘new beginning for the legendary franchise.’

The game will be coming from the studio behind the Forza Horizon, Playground Games, one of Microsoft’s leading development houses. Unfortunately, the trailer below doesn’t amount to anything more than a teaser, and even then this trailer isn’t even using in-engine footage.

Like other games in the Fable series, Microsoft’s new Fable will be a character-focused RPG within an open world. This new entry in the series will be developed from the ground up, sharing nothing with Lionhead’s abandoned Fable Legends, which was designed to be a free-to-play multiplayer-focused service.

Xbox Series X and PC gamers can expect to “Explore a land of fantastical creatures and wondrous places” when Fable released. Sadly, Fable has no release date at this time and appears to be far from release.
