Little is known about Borderlands 3, aside from what was shown in the game’s reveal trailer, with the game’s release date and planned platforms being unknown.

While we can assume that the game is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, things get a little muddier when it comes to the game’s launch platform on PC, though evidence is emerging that’s pointing towards the title being an Epic Games store exclusive on the platform.

Twitter user Wario64 has noticed that a (now deleted) ad for Borderlands 3 which showcased the Epic Games Store logo while lacking any mention of Valve’s Steam platform. A deleted tweet also mentioned a release date of September 13th, though this tweet has also been deleted.

When asked on Twitter, Randy Pitchford, the head Gearbox, stated that Take-Two has exclusive publishing rights for the series and that they make “all decisions regarding price-points, territories, distribution, and platform partnerships.” Pitchford would neither confirm or deny storefront exclusivity claims, but stated that “As a customer, I’m happy to ship at different stores.”

At this time it seems likely that Borderlands 3 will be yet another Epic Games Store exclusive. Expect to hear more about Borderlands 3 on April 3rd when Gearbox will reveal a lot more information about the title.
