LA Noire is coming to HTC Vive and current generation consoles

Rockstar Games has announced that they will be releasing 4 “enhanced versions” of LA Noire onto Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and HTC Vive on November 17th.

The HTC Vive version will be called LA Noire: THe VR Case Files and will feature seven specifically selected cases from the original game which have been rebuilt to be played in VR, placing players directly in the shoes of Detective Cole Phelps.

We’re taking our first steps into virtual reality with L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files, featuring select cases from the original game rebuilt specifically for a virtual reality experience on the HTC VIVE.

This new virtual reality experience will be released alongside enhanced versions of L.A. Noire for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Set against the seedy and violent underbelly of 1940’s Los Angeles, L.A. Noire is the story of a decorated veteran and newly minted detective Cole Phelps as he investigates an escalating series of cases inspired by real-world crimes. Each successfully solved case brings Phelps greater success, but also brings him closer to the dark criminal heart of post-war L.A.

On HTC Vive this game will feature VR driving, make personal notes on Phelps’ notebook, interact with objects within the world and even participate in gunfights.

With each of the included seven cases specifically rebuilt for virtual reality, players can use real-world physical motions, including grabbing, inspecting and manipulating individual clues, or using the detective’s notebook to make notes or draw freehand. And in new first-person VR driving sections, steer, operate car doors and other gizmos, change radio stations, and shoot at villains.
