Master Chief Collection Update Shows of Ultrawide support and silly bugs

In the company’s latest Halo: The Master Chief Collection update, 343 Industries has confirmed that a lot of progress has been made on the collection’s upcoming PC release. For starters, Halo has been shown working on an ultra-widescreen monitor, with options for a “centred” and “screen-edge” UI.

As previously announced, games within the Halo Master Chief Collection will support a wide range of resolutions and support additional features like unlocked framerates FOV adjustments and ultra-wide resolutions when possible within each of the collection’s games.

Test Flights for Halo Reach’s Firefight mode is planned for the near future, alongside additional flights for the game’s campaign and PvP modes.

Microsoft has confirmed the pricing structure of the PC version of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. All titles within the collection will be available to Xbox Game Pass for PC subscribers at launch, but those who a more direct form of ownership will be able to purchase Halo: Reach, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3 and Halo 4 for $9.99 each. Halo: ODST will come at a cheaper price of $4.99, as it will ship with just the game’s single-player component.

PC players will be able to purchase all of these titles at once, but at this time Microsoft has provided no pricing for their full Master Chief Collection game bundle.

343 has also been working to address the bugs within Halo Reach and other games within the Master Chief Collection. One of these bugs are included in the video below, titled “Best Checkpoint Ever”, where a player is caught in an infinite death loop thanks to a badly timed checkpoint. This bug should be addressed before Halo Reach releases on PC.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is due to release on PC before the end of 2019, at least in part. The collection will release in stages, starting with Halo Reach and then the other Halo games in chronological order.
