Microsoft wants everyone to be subscribing to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, the service which offers early users early access to all upcoming first-party Xbox Game Studios releases alongside access to a large library of both classic and modern titles. On top of this, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate also includes Xbox Live Gold, making it the one-stop-shop for all things Xbox.

If this deal isn’t sweet enough for you, Microsoft has partnered with Spotify to offer new subscribers to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, or Xbox Game Pass for PC, six months of free access to Spotify Premium. This only applies to new users of Xbox Game Pass, and newcomers to Spotify Premium. Better still, Microsoft is allowing subscribers to Xbox Gold or Xbox Game Pass the ability to upgrade their subscriptions for $1. That’s right, you can load up on three years of Xbox Live Gold, and then upgrade to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for $1. That’s a deal!

There is a reason why this offer is so tantalising. Simply put, Sony won the current console generation. The PlayStation 4 outsold Xbox One by a considerable margin, and Microsoft wants to do what they can to secure victory when the next-generation of consoles release. Offering such a good deal on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will build good faith with existing Xbox users, and give them little reason to shift to Sony’s next-generation platform when it releases.

Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Spotify Premium offer is only available to gamers in the UK and US.
