Nvidia releases 4K 60FPS PC footage of Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Nvidia has released some 4K 60FPS gameplay footage for the PC version of Square Enix’ Shadow of the Tomb Raider, which is set to release on September 14th on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Sadly, Nvidia has not listed the graphics card used to run this gameplay demo, something which often indicated that the demo either required a dual-GPU setup for 4K 60FPS gameplay or that Nvidia expects the game to run a lot better on Geforce hardware at launch.

In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Lara Croft is in the jungles of South America and is racing to save the world from a Mayan apocalypse, ending Crystal Dynamics’ Tomb Raider Trilogy.

The game is expected to take between 13-15 hours to complete, excluding side missions and optional Tomb raiding, making the game fairly long by today’s standards. Below you can see Nvidia’s 4K PC gameplay for Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is expected to release on PC with support for both DirectX 11 and DirectX 12 and utilise the series’ iconic PureHair (a variant of AMD TressFX) hair rendering technology as well as Geforce graphical technologies.

Nvidia has already confirmed that they have partnered with Square Enix, Eidos-Montreal, Crystal Dynamics and Nixxes to offer PC-exclusive graphical enhancements for Shadow of the Tomb Raider. This co-operation will add a lot of extra visual yum-yum to the game, while also allowing it to make heavier use of modern graphics hardware. Expect Shadow of the Tomb Raider to be extremely demanding at max settings.
