Red Dead Redemption 2 leaks – Battle Royale Mode, first-person options and more

Red Dead Redemption 2 has been delayed until October 2018, though that hasn’t stopped information about the title from getting out early, including info about new gameplay mechanics, multiplayer modes and story details.

In single-player, gamers will stand in the shoes of Arthur Morgan, making choices that will impact the main story as they progress through the game’s campaign. Some missions are playable with different legal ramifications, with events changing depending on which characters players interact with or what dialogue options are chosen.

The game’s huge map will offer a variety of fast-travel locations, with documentation hinting that trains can be used to travel long distances quickly. Each town in the game will have unique inhabitants, side missions and challenges, with fishing, horseback riding and crafting options being available.

Like GTA V, players can be given random encounters/events to interact with on their journey. Players will also be able to take on bounties, allowing them to hunt down wanted criminals. A first-person mode has also been mentioned, a capability that was only available in GTA V on current generation consoles and PC.

On the multiplayer side, three mission types have been revealed. First comes “money Grab”, where players fight over bags of cash in a central location, bags which can be returned to player bases for points. The second mode is called “Revive and Survive” another team mode where teams fight against each other with a limited number of revives and finally we have “Battle Royale”, a mode which offers a similar deathmatch style to PUBG and Fortnite.

Right now Red Dead Redemption 2 has not been confirmed for PC, with the title releasing for Xbox One and PS4 in October. A PC release is expected at a later date, just like GTA V.
