Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order to be like Force Unleashed but “without the Mountain Dew qualities”

Earlier this year, EA announced that Respawn Entertainment was working on a new Star Wars game called “Jedi: Fallen Order“, a game which is set between the events of Star Wars: Episode III and Episode IV.

The game will follow a Padawan that survived the destruction of the Jedi Order, offering lightsaber wielding gameplay in a time where the Galactic Empire is actively hunting surviving Jedi. Right now, this game is expected to release in late 2019, though no gameplay has been released for the game so far.

In the latest episode of the “Making of Star Wars” podcast, host Jason Ward reported that he had contact with an undisclosed member of the “gaming industry”, stating that Fallen Order will have a similar tone to Star Wars: The Force Unleashed but “without the Mountain Dew qualities”.

This means that players can expect to be hunted by the Empire and for the game to offer a dark/gritty tone, but that the game will remain true to the Star Wars canon. Unlike Force Unleashed, players of Fallen Order shouldn’t expect to be force pulling Star Destroyers from orbit, or “anything absurd”.

At this time Jedi: Fallen Order appears to be a single player only game, with Ward stating that gamers “will want to keep your Star Wars: Battlefront installed for Star Wars multiplayer.

Right now this report can be considered as nothing more than a rumour, though it is worth noting that the “Making of Star Wars” Podcast has been able to gain access to a lot of accurate information in the past, including the full plot of Star Wars: The Force Awakens before its release.
