The Oblivion fan remaster Skyblivion is entering its “final stages of development”

For those who are unfamiliar with Skyblivion, it’s an in-development mode which brings the world of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion into the engine of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, effectively remastering the game with modernised visuals.

This mod has been in the works since 2012 from a volunteer group called TESRenewal, who now says that the end of the mod’s development is “in sight”, confirming that the game’s exterior world map is “nearing its final stages of development”. To celebrate this, the group has created a new teaser trailer for the mod, which showcases the game world in all of its fantastical glory.

At this time it is unknown when the mod will be available to gamers, but the team has stated that the game’s remaining creatures, weapons, armour sets and 3D assets are being implemented at a rapid pace, though lots of debugging will be required to make everything, including quests, run smoothly.

With the release of this trailer, the project’s leader Rebelzize has asked for volunteers to help bring the mod to completion, asking for assistance within the mod’s 3D and coding departments, though CK modders and texture artists are also welcomed.

When the mod releases, it will be available for free. The only requirements for the mod are copies of both Skyrim and Oblivion. More information about Skyblivion is available on the project’s official website.
