Total War: Three Kingdoms release date announced

Creative Assembly has officially revealed Total War: Three Kingdoms’ release date, confirming that the game will be released on March 7th, 2019. Initially, Total War: Three Kingdoms was targetting a released this month, in September 2018.

Total War: Three Kingdoms will place players into 2nd Century China, detailing the “Three Kingdoms” period of Chinese history with campaign modes that focus on the historical setting in a purist form while the game’s “Romance of the Three Kingdoms” mode retells the story in a way that is akin to the novel of the same name.

In historical mode, you can expect Generals to be as powerful as their other soldiers, with powerful bodyguard units to protect them in battle, while “romance” mode will make these characters larger than life, with insane combat abilities and the potential to give units buffs or debuffs depending on the character’s traits. Think of it this way, historical mode is like other classic Total War games, whereas Romance mode takes a few liberties, making generals more like the Total War: Warhammer counterparts.

Those who pre-order Total War: Three Kingdoms will receive access to the game’s Yellow Turban Rebellion DLC pack, which contains the warlords He Yi, Gong Du, and Huang Shao, the Healer, Scholar and Veteral Hero classes and unique armour and weapons for these new heroes.

Total War: Three Kingdoms will release on Windows PC on March 7th, 2019. The game will release on both MacOS and Linux “shortly after Windows”.
