Twitch plans to give away five games to Prime subscribers next month

For the past three months, Twitch has been offering PC users free games as part of their Twitch Prime service, hoping to realise Amazon’s ambitions to create a PC gaming storefront that can rival Steam, Origin and GOG. Twitch will become a place where games can be streamed, watched, discussed and purchased, creating a compelling ecosystem for consumers.

Starting today, Twitch Prime subscribers will have access to five free games, games which include the highly acclaimed The Banner Saga and its sequel The Banner Saga 2. Other games in this bundle include Tumblestone Threadnauts and Strafe.

So far Twitch has not been successful as a gaming storefront, with these free promotions acting as a gateway into the ecosystem, building a gaming library for subscribers that may eventually lead to other game purchases.

This bundle will be available until June 30th, granting permanent access to the five games below through Amazon’s Twitch Prime app for PC.

Twitch Prime is a new premium experience on Twitch that is included with Amazon Prime. Benefits include monthly in-game loot, ad-free viewing on Twitch, a channel subscription every 30 days AND all the benefits of being a prime member. See all the Twitch Prime benefits here.
