Twitch Prime subscribers will get six free games next month

For the past two months, Twitch has been offering PC users free games as part of their Twitch Prime service, hoping to realise Amazon’s ambitions to create a PC gaming storefront that can rival Steam, Origin and GOG. Twitch will become a place where games can be streamed, watched, discussed and purchased, creating a compelling ecosystem for consumers.

On May 1st, six new free games will become available to Twitch Prime subscribers, games which will all become available on the Twitch desktop app. May’s list of free games include Gone Home, I Hope, High Hell, Titan Souls, Cluster Truck and Psychonauts.

So far Twitch has not been successful as a gaming storefront, with these free promotions acting as a gateway into the ecosystem, building a gaming library for subscribers that may eventually lead to other game purchases.

Twitch Prime is a new premium experience on Twitch that is included with Amazon Prime. Benefits include monthly in-game loot, ad-free viewing on Twitch, a channel subscription every 30 days AND all the benefits of being a prime member. See all the Twitch Prime benefits here.
