World of Tanks 1.0 has launched with a new Graphics Engine
What is most astounding about this update is that the game’s new engine, which will allow existing users to run the game without the need for an upgrade. The game’s minimum system requirements have not changed! Users of modern hardware can now take advantage of the games higher graphical presets to have a much better visual experience, which is something that users have been crying out for for quite some time.Â
World of Tanks was constrained by the game’s old BigWorld Engine, acting as the primary motivator behind the game’s engine change, allowing the Wargaming to utilise modern graphical technologies to offer striking visuals at the game’s higher settings. This new engine also focuses on providing increase performance efficiency, which will allow all players of the game to see at least some graphical improvement using World of Tanks version 1.0.
In total, 29 maps have been refined and redesigned to improve gameplay, and their visual appeal, a new map called Glacier has also been added to the game, upping the game’s map count to 30.Â
Below is World of Tanks’ adjusted PC system requirements, where the game’s minimum hardware specs have gone largely unchanged while the game’s recommended specs have seen a significant increase, mostly thanks to the game’s higher graphical options. These system requirements are still very low by today’s standards, particularly when it comes to system memory/RAM.Â
