Corsair has unveiled a new flagship SSD, topping off their NX500 series PCIe SSD with a new 1600GB model, doubling the maximum capacity of the company’s fastest PCIe NVME SSD.

The SSD itself comes in a half-height PCIe form factor and uses a PCIe 3.0 x4 bus interface using the NVMe 1.2 protocol, utilising a Phison PS5007-E7 controller with Toshiba 15nm MLC flash to deliver read/write speeds of up to 3,000/2,300 MB/s in ATTO and 2,800/1,600 MB/s in CrystalDiskMark. In terms of random Read and write performance these SSDs are also set to offer 300,000 and 270,000 IOPS respectively in IOMeter, which is a lot of performance for a modern SSD.

Neutron series SSDs come with a black PCB, backplate and a large black aluminium heatsink, delivering a striking aesthetic which will keep this SSD cool and quiet under sustained loads.

These two SSDs are currently available for sale in for £329.99 and £674.99 and £1614.99 for the 400GB, 800GB and 1600GB versions respectively on Corsair’s website.
