Samsung reveals new Galaxy Book S Notebook – More Windows on ARM
To achieve this goal, Samsung hasn’t opted for a low-power Intel or AMD processor. x86 isn’t even a consideration here. No, this Windows laptop is powered by a 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx processor, delivering 40% more CPU performance, 80% more graphics performance and more memory bandwidth than the company’s Galaxy Book 2.Â
With this design, Samsung delivers LTE connectivity, fanless cooling and a large enough battery to offer up to 23 hours of continuous video playback. Not bad for such a compact design. Â

While Windows on ARM can offer some fantastic feats in terms of battery life, the main downside of this notebook is the limited software compatibility of Windows on ARM devices. The simple fact of the matter is that x86 is more versatile, and the high $999 price tag of this unit will undoubtedly act as a significant turn off for potential users. Â
