Sorry Razer, your stolen Valerie is in another castle

Many of you will already know about Razer’s stolen Project Valerie prototypes, which were taken from CES 2017 on Sunday, January 8th.

This laptop prototype is a unique laptop design from Razer, featuring three 17-inch 4K displays which offer the world’s first portable multi-screen notebook experience. This notebook offers a combined screen resolution of 11520×2160, which is powered by a GTX 1080 GPU. Each display automatically sets itself in place once the system is turned on to give its users the ultimate portable multi-screen workstation.

Now, it looks like Razer’s recently stolen Project Valerie prototype has made it onto the Chinese website Taobau, where it is currently for sale for 150000 Yuan (approx $22000). This sale is almost certainly a fake, which means that these notebooks have not been transported from Las Vegas to China and that Razer will need to continue searching for their unique multi-screen notebook.

While many sites have reported that this sale is legitimate, it is pretty easy to figure out that the images in the sale are not from the seller, with the same image being available on websites like CNET and TechStunt, who posted articles on Razer’s Valerie prototype on January 6th, two days before the theft took place.

This image was taken at CES, which means that the seller most likely does not have the project Valerie prototype as if they did why not take a picture themselves to confirm its authenticity?

Right now, Razer is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for original information that leads to the identification or the arrest/conviction of a criminal/suspect.
