Early Doors and ASUS
The logistics of hosting an event such as this boggle the mind. More hardware than you can possibly imagine, along with merchandise, gaming systems, flyers, posters and a ton of people are all involved in turning a mass of brown cardboard into the latest desirable products.
When you get a ton of gamers together then it's obvious that you need two things : Energy drinks and monitors. It was tempting to grab the nearest forklift and make off down the M6. Not for the monitors you understand, just the caffeine. OC3D is made up of about 50% sweat and passion, 40% caffeine and 10% bacon.
Speaking of ASUS, as you would expect they had a huge presence at i52. Not only in terms of the products that they had available, but every second system had something ASUS in it. The, admittedly intentional, side effect of producing so much hardware is that most people end up with some of it. B-Neg's system found it self displayed on the Asus stand, pity there were no direct lights near by to show off the paint....... Im getting flash backs of Toms Kameleon paint woes here!
Even though much of this is stuff that we've reviewed here at OC3D, or perhaps things that are going to be upcoming reviews - check back on the site on Friday- there is something about seeing it light properly in a glass case that makes it desirable.
This clearly must be a deliberate ploy as even Sapphire were getting in on the act.
