Sonos is increasing the UK prices of their speakers

Sonos, the Speaker manufacturer, have announced that they will be increasing their UK prices on February 23rd in order to compensate for the effects of Brexit on the UK Pound, which has dropped in value significantly.

These pricing change will increase the cost of some units by as much as 25%, though the prices of all of Sonos’ current lineup will stay at their normal cost until February 23rd, giving consumers in the UK 10 days to buy Sonos hardware without any price increases.

Our prices are defined regionally. In the UK, this includes local taxation and import duties, but we pay for everything we make in US dollars.

Over recent months, there has been a significant change on the US Dollar to GBP exchange rate. As a result, our existing pricing has become unsustainable and, like many other companies, we have to increase prices for all products priced in GBP.

Below is a list of all price changes in the Sonos lineup;

It is likely that we will see more manufacturers increasing their UK prices in the near future, with many products already coming with increased prices since the UK’s Brexit vote. This is a very worrying trend in the UK, but sadly there is nothing that consumers can do prevent price increases in the short term.
