Corsair opens its doors to EKWB's former CEO and CTO

Back in November, we learned that EKWB had gone through a management upheaval, with the company's CEO, CTO, Head of marketing and some R&D staff leaving the company.

Now we know what has happened EK's former CEO, Mark Tanko and CTO, Niko Tivadar, both of which are currently employed at Corsair as Vice President & BU General Manager and Director Of Engineering respectively.

Corsair may not be known for custom liquid cooling, but right now it seems clear that the company has ambitions in this area, showcasing custom liquid cooling components at Computex 2017 that range from water blocks to reservoirs, radiators and fittings.

The addition of EK's former top management will be a massive step towards the company's accelerating their custom water cooling ambitions, as well as develop their H-series of pre-filled all-in-one water coolers further.

One other thing to note here is that Mark Tanko's job title lists him as a BU (Business Unit) Manager at Corsair, which could mean that Tanko will be taking the helm of a newly formed division within Corsair. Given Tanko's experience, this group is likely to be a new custom liquid cooling division within Corsair.

With the like of Thermaltake and Phanteks already entering into the custom liquid cooling market, it makes sense for Corsair to explore the custom liquid cooling market for future growth.

Corsair already supplies AIO liquid coolers to the likes of MSI and other partners for GPUs and other products, giving the company an opportunity to expand this market further with full-cover water block options for their all-in-one liquid coolers. Corsair's experience in the AIO Liquid cooling market will also be transferable to the world of custom liquid cooling, with the brand already being famous for their pre-filled liquid cooler designs.
