EK Release new Monarch EK-RAM Modules

EK has released new Monarch EK-RAM Modules, offering compatibility with virtually all DDR memory modules to allow for easy water cooling compatibility.

Before now EK's Monarch heatsink modules were only available in black but now EK has released a new Nickel plated version. The EK-RAM Monarch Module is a heatsink adapter that can fit onto virtually any (DDR-)SDRAM memory module (of any generation) to be liquid cooled in conjunction with EK-RAM Monarch series water blocks.

Each heatsink consists of two separate plates where a single DIMM memory module is sandwiched into. Heat transfer between the memory module and aluminium heatsink adapter is ensured by the use of an enclosed thermal pad. EK-RAM Monarch Modules set contains two (2) EK-RAM Monarch Module Adapter heatsinks. Each of these items are made of CNC machined high-quality aluminium and feature nickel finish (Nickel) or black anodized finish (Black). EK's Monarch Memory water blocks are purchased separately.

Availability and pricing

EK-RAM Monarch Modules are made in Slovenia, Europe and are readily available for purchase through EK Webshop and Partner Reseller Network. In the table below you can find prices with VAT included.

With the low voltages and power consumption of modern DDR4 memory, water cooling and other active memory cooling methods are almost completely unnecessary outside of purely aesthetic reasons, or heavy overclocking.

Don't know why you'd need to watercool RAM but man it looks pretty!

Edit - it's more about 'want' I know. Quote

You basically answered the reason why.. Aesthetics, and simply because we can.Quote

I'm tempted to buy some blocks and backplates for my 980s before they go EOL. Not sure how long they keep manufacturing them after the GPU cycles but I won't be buying the rest of the kit until the middle of the year. I was originally thinking black but the Nickel plating just looks amazing on these.
