Noctua has delayed its NH-D15 successor to Q1 2023

Noctua's Next-Generation NH-D15 CPU Cooler has been delayed until 2023

As much flack as Noctua gets for its Brown and beige colour scheme, it is hard to deny that it has helped made their brand iconic within today's PC industry. Noctua is famed for their well designed CPU heatsinks, so much so that it had gotten many to love their often disliked colour scheme. While we now have all-black Chromax series products for the brown/beige haters, It cannot be denied that Noctua's famed colour scheme is a sign of quality for many.

Noctua is a brand that can grab a lot of attention from PC enthusiasts. Many of their upcoming products are highly anticipated, especially when it comes to their famed NH-D series. Noctua's NH-D14 and NH-D15 heatsinks are widely considered the best air coolers of their respective eras, and Noctua has confirmed that they have a "Next-generation NH-D15 in the works. The sad news that we have for your today is that this highly anticipated CPU cooler has been delayed.

Noctua's Next-generation NH-D15

Noctua's NH-D15 successor was originally due to launch in 2021, but since then the heatsink has been delayed and delayed again. With Noctua's latest hardware roadmap, the company has confirmed that their next-generation NH-15 heatsink is now due to launch in Q1 2023.

With their next-generation NH-D15 CPU cooler, Noctua has an opportunity to showcase everything the company has learned since the NH-D15's launch in 2014. Since then Noctua has released improved fan designs, new heatsink technologies and had greatly improved the performance of their small form factor CPU heatsinks. Now, Noctua's working on bringing their latest heatsink innovations to the high-end PC marked, which is the primary reason why Noctua fans should be excited about this new heatsink.

Next-generation 140mm fans

Before the launch of their next-gen NH-D15 CPU cooler, Noctua plans to release nw 140mm fans. With their new hardware roadmap, Noctua has confirmed that their new 140mm fans should release in Q4 2022. These new fans are likely to be used with Noctua's next-gen NH-D15 CPU heatsink.

It has been a long time since Noctua has updated their 140mm fans, and that gives Noctua a change to improve their 140mm fans using the same technologies that we already see in fans like their NF-A12x25 120mm fans. Are NF-A14x25 fans on the horizon?

With new fans and a new heatsink design, Noctua can improve the cooling potential of their NH-D15 successor in a number of ways.

What else does Noctua have on the horizon?

This quarter, Noctua has only one planned product launch. In Q2 2022, Noctua plans to release fan grills. Whether or not these fans will be brown, and/or beige remains to be seen. In Q3, things get more exciting. First off, we have 24V to 12V voltage converters, which will allow Noctua's 12V fans to be used in 24V applications. This will be a useful product for those who want to upgrade products like 3D printers with Noctua fans. We also have an 8-way Noctua fan hub coming in Q3, as well as a next-generation CPU cooler for Intel's Xeon platform.

In Q4 2024, we have Noctua's next-generation 140mm fans, slim 60mm fans, and 24V 40mm fans. As mentioned before, 24V fans will be useful for upgrading the fans on 24V electronics, like 3D printers and other similar devices.

In 2022, Noctua should be launching their NH-D15 successor, a desk fan product and white fans. These white fans will likely be part of Noctua's Chromax range.
