Noctua’s Next-generation NF-A12x25 G2 fans have arrived
Noctua promises boosted cooling performance with its new NF-A12x25 fans
Noctua has officially released its new NF-A12X25 G2 series of fans, offering users enhanced cooling performance through the use of refined blade geometries, an improved motor, and other design improvements.
With these new G2 fans, Noctua has delivered a major boost in its performance-to-noise ratio. This means that users can utilise the benefits of their new fan design to lower their system’s noise levels, or enhance its cooling performance.

- Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 PWM Sx2-PP 2x 120mm fans – £54.90 – Amazon UK
Like prior NF series fans, Noctua’s NF-A12x25 G2 fans are optimised for various use cases. This includes case airflow applications, heatsink applications, and liquid cooling applications. Noctua’s new G2 fans outperform their predecessors in all of these areas, with the largest gains being seen in liquid cooling performance.
Below, we can see how Noctua’s new fans perform in a 49 mm-thick 120mm liquid cooling radiator. Compared to Noctua’s last-generation 120mm fan, the company’s new G2 series fans can deliver thermals up to 3.5 degrees cooler in noise-normalised scenarios. With these fans, Noctua can deliver lower system thermals, or the same performance as before with much lower noise levels.

To further minimise noise levels, Noctua has released Push-Pull/Side-By-Side fan packs that operate at offset fan RPMs. Using these fans can minimise noise by preventing individual fans from interacting acoustically. This prevents humming sounds, lowers noise levels, and makes fan noise more consistent. If those characteristics are of interest to you, buy these fans in an “Sx2-PP” fan set.
