Upon the release of Intel's Ivy Bridge CPUs in 2012 CPU delidding has been commonplace, acting as a method to improve the thermal performance of CPUs which use a thermal paste for thermal transfer instead of die-IHS solder.

This decrease in CPU thermals has allowed overclockers to push CPU clock speeds to new heights, silence freaks to create quieter PCs with increased thermal headroom and ordinary PC users the smug satisfaction that their processor is running a lot cooler than an unmodified part.

Like most enthusiasts, high-end overclockers and PC builders want to see thermals pushed even lower, requiring products that can take delidding to the next level. How can this be done, some of you may ask, but the answer is simple, get your CPU cooler physically closer to your CPU, cutting out the middleman by removing your CPU's IHS and cooling your CPU die directly.

This is where the NUDEcnc Ncore V1 and V1D naked die liquid coolers come in, offering users the opportunity to cool their CPU dies directly to offer up to a 10% improvement in thermal performance over already delidded CPUs and up to a 38% improvement over non-delidded hardware.

The Ncore V1 will release with two models, the V1 which is designed for delidded CPUs only and can be mounted directly to your CPU's IHS using a unique "in-socket" tool/screw free installation process. The V1D can be installed on delidded and non-delidded CPUs and comes with a more traditional CPU mounting bracket, which can also be used to delid LGA1151 CPUs.

Both the Ncore V1 and V1D support Intel's LGA 1151 socket exclusively, which means that this product is not usable with AMD hardware or other Intel sockets.

NUDEcnc plans to raise £10,000 on Kickstarter to purchase a professional CNC machine which will be used to create production-grade Ncore water blocks, with each Ncore V1 costing £79 (£69 for early backers) and each V1D costing £99 (£89 for early backers). NUDEcnc's NVDelidder delidding tool will also be available with a pledge of £35 or higher, with all backers receiving "exclusive project updates" for the duration of the project.

That's just a die guard and delid tool. You still need a WB. This guy's design has everything all in one.Quote
