Thermal Grizzly launch custom KryoSheet thermal pads for Nvidia RTX 5090 GPUs

Thermal Grizzly now stocks custom KryoSheet thermal pads for Nvidia’s RTX 5090 series GPUs

Thermal Grizzly has released a 44 x 37 mm version of their Kryosheet thermal pads, a specific adaptation for Nvidia’s GB202-based RTX 5090 graphics cards. These graphene thermal pads are intended for use with liquid-cooled RTX 5090 GPUs, though they also act as a replacement for thermal pastes.

These new sheets will ship with Kapton insulation tape, which will make your GPU safe from shorts when installed correctly. Thermal Grizzly’s pads are 0.2mm thick, making them ideal as a thermal interface. Graphine thermal pads are immune to the “pump-out” effect that can impact thermal pastes, making them better for long-term use.

Thermal Grizzly, a high-performance cooling solutions provider, introduces new size of KryoSheet for the specific adaptation of GeForce RTX 5090 graphics cards to a water cooling solution. KryoSheet graphene thermal pads are an excellent alternative for thermal pastes and have a conformable surface with very high thermal conductivity. The KryoSheet in the size of 44 x 37 mm comes with a Kapton Insulation Sheet.

The new size makes it suitable as a replacement for thermal paste on air-cooled RTX 5090 graphics cards, as the size of the GPU chip can lead to an acceleration of the pump-out effect. The KryoSheet, with dimensions of 44 x 37 mm, fully covers the GB202-300-A1 GPU of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 and slightly extends beyond the chip’s edges. This makes it necessary to electrically insulate the surrounding electronic components. For this purpose, the new size comes with the TG Kapton Insulation Sheet.

Below are some installation instructions for Thermal Grizzly’s RTX 5090-specific thermal pads. Above are some images showcasing the installation using an ASUS ROG Astral graphics card.

The following images demonstrate how to use it on a graphics card, using an ASUS GeForce RTX 5090 Astral as an example. First, the graphics chip and the surrounding area must be thoroughly cleaned and degreased (e.g., with isopropanol). After cleaning, the Kapton Insulation Sheet is applied. The Kapton strips should be aligned along the edges of the chip and carefully adhered. The Kapton strips must not be placed on top of the graphics chip!

Once all four sides next to the chip have been covered, the KryoSheet can be applied according to the instructions (steps 3 and 4). If the adhesive side of the Kapton Insulation Sheet has come into contact with the chip during application, it is recommended to clean the chip again before proceeding. Cutting the KryoSheet to size is not necessary.

Thermal Grizzly’s new RTX 5090 KryoSheet thermal pads are now available through the Thermal Grizzly website. In Europe, each pad will cost €22.90. This cost in minimal when compared to the full cost of an RTX 5090 graphics card, especially when users also opt to invest in liquid cooling.
