Thermaltake confirms Intel Nova Lake/LGA 1954 support with new MINECUBE CPU cooler

Thermaltake accidentally confirms Intel LGA 1954 support for its newest CPU cooler

On the web page for its new MINECUBE 360 Ultra CPU cooler, which we saw at Computex 2025, Thermaltake accidentally unveiled that its new cooler supports Intel’s upcoming Nova Lake CPUs. Specifically, their cooler was listed as supporting Intel’s next-generation LGA-1954 socket, which will be used with Intel’s next-generation motherboards.

This information was first spotted by @momomo_us on Twitter/X. Since this was confirmed, Thermaltake has updated its website and user manual for its MINECUBE 360 Ultra CPU coolers to remove references to LGA 1954.

What’s special about Thermaltake’s “MINECUBE” liquid coolers is their use of four 3.95-inch LCD screens, which allows users to showcase some unique visual effects on their CPU coolers. Each screen can work independently or be used together for combined effects.

Based on the chart below, Intel’s LGA 1954 socket appears to use the same mounts as LGA 1700 and LGA 1851. This likely means that all LGA 1700/1851 coolers will support LGA 1954. This means that most currently available CPU coolers should support Intel’s LGA 1954 socket. If that is the case, the move to LGA 1954 should be an easy transition for Intel.

Undoubtedly, Intel will launch Nova Lake as its Core Ultra 400 series. Panther Lake is Intel’s Core Ultra 300 series. Today’s Arrow Lake desktop CPUs are part of Intel’s Core Ultra 200 series. This means that Nova Lake will benefit from two generations of architectural advancement over Arrow Lake.

Expect Nova Lake CPUs to launch next year

Intel plans to launch its next-generation Nova Lake CPUs in late 2026. If that happens, Nova Lake is likely to be available in about a year. This will bring in a new wave of LGA 1954 motherboards to support these new processors. Furthermore, it will usher in a wave of PC upgrades, assuming Intel delivers enough performance to convince PC builders to upgrade their systems.
