AMD smacks down Intel with their Ryzen 7 9800X3D Gaming CPU

AMD has dealt Intel a critical blow, launching their gaming-oriented Ryzen 7 9800X3D gaming CPU shortly after the launch of Arrow Lake. Where Intel has regressed, AMD has advanced. When it comes to gaming, AMD’s newest X3D CPU appears to be king of the hill.

Boasting a 500MHz higher base clock speed than its predecessor, Zen 5 cores, and support for overclocking, AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D surpasses its last-generation counterpart in many areas. With a second-generation 3D V-Cache, AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D boasts better thermals and higher speeds than AMD’s 7800X3D.

On average, AMD claims that their new 9800X3D is 8% faster than their 7800X3D on average. Below, we can see that AMD’s performance gains can be as high as 26%. A solid result from AMD’s newest gaming CPU.

AMD puts Intel to shame with their Ryzen 7 9800X3D

Compared to Intel’s Arrow Lake Core Ultra 9 285K, AMD stated that their new 9800X3D CPU is 20% faster on average. Below, we can see AMD’s newest gaming CPU besting Intel’s newly released flagship by up to 59%. AMD hasn’t just bested Intel here; they have slaughtered them. Assuming AMD’s data is correct, AMD has slaughtered Intel with the release of their latest X3D gaming CPUs.

AMD has reconfirmed that its Ryzen 7 9800X3D will be available on November 7th and will be compatible with all AMD AM5 motherboards.
