AMD officially reveals their Ryzen 9000 Zen 5 CPU pricing

Here’s how much AMD’s new Ryzen 9000 series CPUs will cost

Update – We have just published our review of AMD’s Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X.

AMD has officially revealed their pricing for their upcoming Ryzen 9000 series CPUs. AMD has waited until as late as possible to reveal pricing for these new processors. After all, the Ryzen 5 9600X and Ryzen 7 9700X will both be releasing tomorrow on August 8th. These CPUs will cost $279 and $359 respectively.

Later this month, on August 15th, AMD will be releasing their higher-end Ryzen 9 9900X and Ryzen 9 9950X processors. These CPUs will cost $499 and $649 respectively. These prices are lower than the launch pricing of AMD Ryzen 7000 series CPUs. That said, AMD’s Ryzen 7000 series CPUs all received price cuts early in their respective life cycles.

All of AMD’s Ryzen 9000 series CPUs will benefit from AMD’s new Zen 5 CPU architecture. If you want to know more about Zen 5, you can read our architecture Deep Dive here. These new CPUs will also feature an improved thermal lid design, making these CPUs easier to cool than their predecessors. Add on the lower TDPs of much of AMD’s Zen 5 lineup, and AMD latest CPUs will be much easier to cool than their last-generation counterparts.
