AMD reportedly plans to launch Ryzen 9000 X3D CPUs at CES 2025
Ryzen 9000 X3D could be launching at CES 2025, much later than previously rumoured
AMD’s Ryzen 9000 series launch hasn’t been hugely successful. Not all early reviews have been positive, and gamers are eagerly awaiting the company’s enhanced X3D CPUs. Now, it looks like AMD is planning to launch their Ryzen 9000 X3D CPUs at CES 2025, much later than early leakers had claimed.
AMD has not officially revealed when their next-generation X3D CPUs will launch, though they have confirmed that new X3D CPUs are in the works. AMD has promised “really cool updates” with their new X3D CPUs. Even so, it remains to be seen what these updates are. Should we expect higher clock speeds than normal? Should we expect more L3 cache or bandwidth? Will other add-ons be stacked onto AMD’s X3D CPUs? Who knows… We will have to wait and see.
HXL and 1usmus, two well regarded hardware leakers, have suggested that AMD’s X3D CPUs will launch at CES 2025. While this is a long wait for impatient upgraders, it may prove to be a good thing for AMD and PC builders alike.

Windows updates and firmware updates will come to Ryzen 9000 ahead of X3D and CES 2025
AMD has today confirmed that a new Windows update is coming that can deliver up to a 13% performance boost for their Ryzen 9000 series CPUs in games. Additionally, AMD has confirmed that new firmware updates are coming that will benefit Ryzen 9000 series CPU users. Both of these factors should make AMD’s Ryzen 9000 series more stable and performant ahead of a potential X3D CPU launch. That’s good news for PC builders, and AMD.
While many of us would like to have access to Ryzen 9000 X3D CPUs as soon as possible, a CES 2025 launch could be the best option for everyone. After all, we don’t want AMD’s X3D launch to suffer from the same issues as their non-X3D parts.
