AMD Ryzen 5 7600X3D nips on the heels of the 7800X3D in early gaming review
AMD’s Ryzen 5 7600X3D impresses while gaming, but its launch pricing is a tad high – Review claims
PC Games Hardware has become the first website to review AMD’s new Ryzen 5 7600X3D CPU, and it delivers strong gaming performance. Across their benchmark suite, AMD’s new 6-core gaming chip is only 8% slower than AMD’s Ryzen 7 7800X3D. Not a bad result, given this CPU’s 25% decrease in core count and lower core clock speeds.
These gaming results make AMD’s new 6-core X3D chip a stronger gaming product than AMD’s Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 9 7900X3D. Yes, AMD’s V-Cache upgrade is powerful enough to counter the Ryzen 7 9700X and its higher clock speeds, additional cores, and newer Zen 5 architectural enhancements. AMD’s 3D V-Cache is a powerful gaming upgrade!
Note that this review placed AMD’s new budget-oriented gaming CPU below several Intel models. This includes the i5-14600K and i5-14600K. This places AMD’s new X3D chip in a strange position, as both of these i5 chips are cheaper than AMD’s Ryzen 5 7600X3D.
(Data from PC Games Hardware)
Overall, AMD’s new 6-core X3D chip appears to be a great gaming product with a strange price tag. At â¬329, this CPU is â¬60 cheaper than the Ryzen 7 7800X3D in Europe. That isn’t enough savings for most PC builders to not save a little longer to get AMD’s best gaming CPU, right? Maybe this CPU’s pricing will lower over time. For now, this chip isn’t living up to its “budget gaming champion” potential.
