AMD to launch Ryzen 5 9500F gaming CPU on September 16th

AMD promises a major gaming boost with its new Ryzen 5 9500F CPU

AMD has confirmed that its new Ryzen 5 9500F CPU will be available in China on September 16th. This CPU replaces AMD’s Ryzen 5 7500F, upgrading the older CPU with AMD’s Zen 5 architecture while featuring a higher base clock speed. Currently, it is unclear if this GPU will be released globally. In China, the CPU will cost 1,299 yuan, which translates to roughly £135.

The Ryzen 5 9500F is an AMD AM5 processor that features six cores and 38MB of Cache (6MB L2 + 32MB L3). This CPU has a TDP of 65W and base/boost clock speeds of 3.8/5.0 GHz. Like all AMD F-series CPUs, this processor does not have integrated graphics. This is a non-issue for gamers, as they tend to use a discrete graphics cards.

In AAA Games, AMD claims that its 9500F CPU is 9% faster than its predecessor on average. In “Competitive” games, this average rises to 11%. Note that in some games, the 9500F is marginally slower than its predecessor. However, in best-case instances, the CPU is over 20% faster than its predecessor. Far Cry 6, Baldur’s Gate 3, Valorant, and World of Warcraft all run over 20% faster with AMD’s new Ryzen 9500F CPU.

Overall, AMD’s Ryzen 5 9500F gives largely similar gaming performance to AMD’s Ryzen 5 9600X. This makes this CPU a great value purchase for budget PC builders. The Ryzen 5 9600X is only marginally faster in the tests below.
