AMD Confirms Five New Phenom II Processors
AMD have extended the lifespan of its Dragon platform by announcing five new Phenom IIÂ processors. Three of these new processors will be the Phenom IIÂ X4 Quad-cores, whilst the other two are the industries first 45nm triple-cores, the Phenom IIÂ X3s.
Compatible with both AM2+ and AM3 socket motherboards, and both DDR2 and DDR3, continuing to enhance the value of the AMDÂ Dragon platform to OEM partners and the home build enthusiasts.
Providing a large boost over the previous Phenom processors, these new Phenom IIs deliver a fantastic experience at a mainstream price point. This helps eliminate the substantial cost involved in competing platforms which are forcing users to upgrade to DDR3.
