AMD plans to ‘paints a picture of the next-generation of computing’ at CES 2019 Keynote
This will be the first time that an AMD CEO has presented a keynote at CES, joining the likes of Ginni Rometty, the chairman, president and CEO of IBM. Lisa Su’s keynote will take place on January 9th, 2019, at 9:00 AM Pacific Standard Time.
We already know that AMD plans to release next-generation CPUs and graphics cards using TSMC’s 7nm technology, making it likely that the company plans to discuss their 2019 product roadmap at CES. AMD’s first 7nm product, a 7nm Vega graphics card, is set to release before the end of this year, with AMD revealing their initial chips at Computex 2018.Â
Gary Shapiro, the president and CEO of The Consumer Technology Association (CTA), says that âAMD is transforming the future of computing in our ever-expanding digital world and revolutionizing the $35 billion gaming industry,â and that he is “look(ing) forward to Dr. Suâs keynote as she paints a picture of the next-generation of computing”.  Â
AMD’s 7nm Zen 2 architecture is likely to be one of the highlights of CES 2019, at least for the PC market, though we are also likely to hear more about AMD’s graphics roadmap at the event, including AMD’s long rumoured Navi graphics architecture.Â
