At CES 2021, AMD has confirmed that its Ryzen Threadripper PRO CPU lineup will become available as a direct-to-consumer product, allowing consumers and companies to create custom Threadripper PRO workstations.

AMD's Threadripper PRO lineup is a melding of the company's existing Threadripper products and AMD's server-oriented EPYC product stack, offering users eight DDR4 memory channels, up to 64 CPU cores and 128 PCIe 4.0 lanes. As we have said before on this website, it's Threadripper, but more EPYC.

Alongside their Threadripper PRO processors, AMD's partners will release WRX80 motherboards for these direct-to-consumer processors. We already know that ASUS and Gigabyte are working on WRX80 motherboards, and we expected to see more designs from other manufacturers.

AMD plans to release their Ryzen Threadripper PRO lineup to consumers this March.

Boasting up to 64 cores, 128 PCIe 4.0 lanes, and 8 channels of memory, Threadripper PRO is the world’s fastest workstation processor
