AMD’s Legendary Ryzen 7 5700X3D is now End-Of-Life
AMD’s last X3D CPU on socket AM4 will soon disappear from the CPU market
According to a report from Tweakers, AMD’s Ryzen 7 5700X3D Gaming CPU has reached “End-Of-Life” status and will soon disappear from retailers. Tweakers claims that this report has been confirmed by several online retailers, though AMD has not commented on the change.
AMD’s Ryzen 7 5700X3D is the best gaming CPU that is currently available for AMD’s AM4 CPU platform. AMD’s higher-end Ryzen 7 5800X3D has already disappeared from retail shelves. All newer Ryzen X3D gaming CPUs are for AMD’s newer AM5 socket motherboards. This means that AM4 motherboard users have a limited time to purchase AMD’s 5700X3D CPU before it is no longer sold by retailers.
Assuming this report is correct, AMD is no longer producing X3D series CPUs for socket AM4. Given the age of AMD’s Zen 3/Ryzen 5000 series CPUs and how long AMD’s newer AM5 platform has been available, the retirement of the CPU isn’t unexpected. This CPU was AM4’s last hurrah, at least for gamers. Even today it delivers strong gaming performance for its £220ish price tag.

The Ryzen 7 5700X3D is a legendary gaming CPU
The Ryzen 7 5700X3D has two next-generation replacements. These are the Zen 4-based Ryzen 7800X3D (£336.50) and the Zen 5-based Ryzen 7 9800X3D (£408). Both of these CPUs use AMD’s AM5 socket, support DDR5 memory, and feature much higher clock speeds than AMD’s Zen 3 Ryzen 5000 X3D CPUs.
AMD’s AM4 CPU socket is legendary. Its longevity puts Intel’s CPU sockets to shame. Furthermore, AMD’s X3D CPUs gave the company gaming leadership, something that Intel hasn’t been able to counter effectively. Even now, AMD’s Ryzen 5000 X3D gaming CPUs are still great upgrade options for gamers with AM4 systems.
