AMD’s 1st Generation Threadripper CPUs are selling for gloriously low prices

AMD’s 1st Generation Ryzen Threadripper series CPUs are starting to sell at bargain basement prices, bringing AMD’s 16-core Ryzen Threadripper 1950X below the price of Intel’s i9-9900K, a steal of a price for those who know how to put those cores/threads to work. 

Even more of a steal is AMD’s 12-core Ryzen Threadripper 1920X, which ships for £299.99, a price tag that is similar to AMD’s 8-core Ryzen 7 2700X. If you plan to put the higher core/thread count or the X399 platform’s insane PCIe lane count to work, Threadripper has never been so accessibly priced. 

While the 8-core 1900X is also available, we would recommend avoiding it, as while the additional PCIe lanes of X399 are useful, CPU-wise you are likely better off getting a Ryzen 7 2700X and a cheaper X470 motherboard, or move to the 12-core 1920X.
