ASUS issues “internal review” after AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D failure reports
ASUS issues statement on “AMD Ryzen 9800X3D concerns” following failure reports
ASUS has confirmed that it has started an “internal review” following recent reports of Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU failures on their 800-series AMD AM5 motherboards.
In their statement, ASUS has not unveiled why there is a spike in reports of 9800X3D CPU failures on ASUS motherboards. However, ASUS claims it is working closely with AMD to validate recent reports and ensure stability and quality. It is also working to ensure it delivers “timely solutions” to these reported issues.
For now, ASUS recommends that 800-series motherboard users update their boards to the latest BIOS revisions. ASUS has also asked affected users to contact ASUS’ customer service for direct assistance. ASUS also linked to an FAQ post to help users update their motherboard’s BIOS.

– ASUS
We expect ASUS to keep the PC community updated on the findings of its investigation. It is possible that new BIOS revisions will be released for ASUS’ AM5 motherboards that will increase stability. Hopefully, AMD and ASUS will be able to uncover the source of these failures quickly. Note that this statement comes one week before the release of AMD’s Ryzen 7 9850X3D. Recent reports of CPU failures have undoubtedly left gamers concerned about using ASUS motherboards. With that being the case, ASUS will need to act quickly to prevent potential issues with AMD’s faster 9850X3D CPU.
