ASUS’ new flagship AMD motherboard has been pictured, showcasing the company’s strongest AM5 offering to date. Meet the ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Extreme, ASUS’ top AM5 motherboard for AMD Ryzen CPUs.
On this EATX-sized motherboard, we can see a large LCD or OLED screen above its rear IO panel, two 8-pin CPU power connectors, four DIMM slots, and a full-sized DIMM.2 slot.
With its four DIMM slots, this motherboard is likely to support up to 256GB of DDR5 memory. The motherboard also appears to have internal I/O options for 10 Gbps and 20 Gbps USB ports.

The first M.2 slot on this motherboard features a large heatsink containing an integrated heatpipe. The PCIe slots on this motherboard also support ASUS’ Q-Release Slim feature, making GPU removal easy.
The rear I/O of this motherboard appears to support both 10 Gb and 5 Gb Ethernet. It also features antennas for WIFI 7, and support for 40 Gbps USB4. Additionally, there is also an HDMI port and various other USB and audio connections.
