ASUS announces support for future X99 CPUs
ASUS has announced support for the upcoming Intel Core i7 X-Series processors and Intel Xeon processors, with UEFI BIOS updates that are available right now for ASUS X99 Signature, TUF and ROG Series motherboards.
While ASUS do not mention Intel's upcoming CPUs by name, we all know that ASUS are talking about Broadwell-E support. Intel X99 Broadwell-E series of CPUs will offer increased clock speeds and IPC improvements over their Haswell-E Variants, as well as offer increased core counts in the high end, with Intel 6950K having 10 CPU cores and 20 total threads.
Intel's Broadwell-E Lineup of CPUs are not available on the market yet, but right now ASUS is one of the few manufacturers that stands ready with support for these CPUs for when they are released. It is expected that other motherboard manufacturers will release new BIOS revisions over the coming days or weeks to support Broadwell-E.
