Asus Z170 Motherboards to Feature Custom Color LEDs

ASUS Australia and New Zealand have revealed that their upcoming Maximus VIII Hero will come with Custom Colour LEDs, allowing it's user to choose from 6 Different colour options. From what we can see from ASUS' video below the colour options are Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and Purple.

You have a look at ASUS's Maximus VIII Hero and it's custom colour LED's in the video below.

With ASUS ROG boards switching to a more stealthy look this generation, this is a great opportunity to add custom lighting into the mix, especially since black and red motherboards are becoming ridiculously common in today's market.

Hopefully this custom lighting is not just limited to the ASUS ROG logo itself, as the ability to change the colour of other motherboard LEDs, such as the LED under ASUS' Supreme FX audio would also be a welcome change.

See even though I don't like white I still think that the Deluxe looks a little more coherent. Not really a fan of the huge pool of blackish, grey, red confusion that ASUS are calling both ROG and STRIX branding. If STRIX went black, grey and red and then ROG was reserved for basically the Extreme and Matrix Platinums with a little more red that would make some sense. Presumably the Sabertooth will come along soon with even more black and grey.

It seems to me like MSI and ASUS are just blurring their product hierarchy so they can get away with using a little less red but even more frequently.
