Beyond 6 GHz! Intel’s i9-14900KS CPU has been listed for $749 in the US

Intel’s i9-14900KS CPU pricing has leaked, and it is expensive

According to an early listing from MicroCenter (via Videocardz), Intel will be pricing their long-rumoured i9-14900KS CPU at $749 in the US. This processor reportedly ships with a boost clock speed of 6.2 GHz, making it Intel’s fastest processor to date.

Intel has a long history of releasing enhanced KS-series processors. These limited Edition CPUs have been available for Intel’s 9th, 12th, and 13th generation flagship processors. Typically, these CPUs have offered users higher levels of overclocking headroom and more out-of-the-box performance.

The i9-14900KS will reportedly launch on March 14th, and with its leaked $749 pricing, it will be over $200 more expensive than a standard i9-149ooK. With the i9-014900K costing $520 at Microcenter, the KS version is over 40% more expensive. Is that worth a few hundred MHz in clock speed? That’s for you to to judge.

Intel’s new KS series CPU will be Intel’s top LGA1700 processor. It reportedly ships with a TDP of 150W, and with the same core configuration as the i9-14900K. This means that the CPU features eight P-cores and sixteen E-cores. The CPU will support both Intel 600-series and 700-series motherboards.

Value-wise, Intel’ s i9-14900K should deliver similar performance to their new KS series variant with much lower pricing. That said, the KS series has never been about value, it has always been about pushing the limits of Intel’s latest processors.
