CES 2025 will be a HUGE event for AMD – leak reveals

Expect new CPUs, GPUs, laptops, handhelds, and more at CES 2025

CES 2025 is going to be a HUGE event for AMD. A new leak has revealed that AMD has six new product lines that will be showcased at the event. This includes new laptop processors, gaming handhelds, graphics cards and desktop CPUs.

For laptops, AMD will reportedly reveal new Krackan Point processors for low-power laptops, Strix Halo for mid-range gaming devices, and Ryzen HX for high-performance systems. To power the next generation of PC gaming handhelds, AMD will have their Ryzen Z2 series. These CPUs should arrive in the form of the Ryzen Z2 Extreme, the Z2, and Z2G.

Next up, we have AMD’s RDNA 4-based graphics cards. These GPUs could be part of AMD’s Radeon RX 8000 series. However, if AMD wants to match their Ryzen 9000 CPU naming scheme, they may opt to release RDNA 4 as their RX 9000 series. Why? Brand synergy…

Finally, AMD will reportedly launch their dual CCX Ryzen 9 9900X3D and 9950X3D gaming CPUs at CES 2025. These CPUs should offer an excellent balance of gaming and productivity performance. Note that AMD may use these CPUs to claim performance leadership in gaming and productivity workloads. This may be an easy claim to make given Intel’s lacklustre Arrow Lake (Core Ultra 200) desktop CPU launch.
