Gigabyte Supercharges Z890 with “Intel 200S Boost” Support

Gigabyte gives Arrow Lake a boost with Intel Core 200S support

Gigabyte has rolled out Intel 200S Boost to its entire range of Z890 series motherboards, enhancing the performance of Intel’s Arrow Lake CPU lineup while maintaining warranty coverage. In other words, Gigabyte’s motherboards now feature an in-warranty CPU overclocking profile.

What is Intel 200S Boost? Essentially, it’s an overclocking profile that has been validated by Intel. It increases the frequencies of several processor components to boost system performance and automatically sets memory XMP profiles. It increases clock speeds like D2D and NGU Fabric speeds to boost inter-chip communication. For some CPUs, core clock speeds are also increased. Unlike traditional overclocking, these profiles can be enabled through a single click, and Intel’s 3-year CPU warranty covers it.

To enable this feature, all gamers need to do is update the BIOS of their motherboard and enable the feature. By doing that, PC builders can receive a free performance uplift.

GIGABYTE Technology, one of the top global manufacturers of motherboards, graphics cards, and hardware solutions, is pleased to announce that our entire line of Intel Z890 motherboards now fully supports Intel 200S Boost technology, offering gamers a simple way to enhance performance while maintaining warranty protection.

Intel 200S Boost delivers pre-configured overclocking profiles for Intel Core Ultra 200S Series processors that enhance gaming performance by raising frequencies across processor components for improved framerates and system responsiveness. GIGABYTE Z890 motherboard owners can activate this feature with a simple one-touch profile in the BIOS, eliminating traditional overclocking guesswork while supporting blazing-fast Intel XMP profiles up to DDR5-8000. Best of all, Intel 200S Boost is fully covered under Intel’s 3-year processor warranty, allowing gamers to enjoy performance benefits without traditional warranty concerns.

To enable Intel 200S Boost on GIGABYTE’s Z890 motherboards, K-SKU CPU along with memory modules that support XMP functionality are required. After downloading the latest BIOS version from motherboards webpage (which marked with “200S Boost” support), users can simply activate the Intel 200S Boost option within the BIOS settings. A clear XMP DDR QVL (Qualified Vendor List) will be provided to help users select optimal memory configurations for this feature. It’s important to note that performance improvements are directly correlated with the rating of CPU and XMP memory being used.

Intel 200S Boost is available now on all GIGABYTE Z890 motherboards through a simple BIOS update. For more information about compatible products and how to enable this feature, please visit this page.

Sadly, Intel’s 200S Boost feature appears to be limited to Intel’s K-series CPUs. This means that non-K Intel Core Ultra 200 series CPUs cannot benefit from the same enhancements. Another thing to note is that these performance gains are also achievable through traditional overclocking. As such, this feature is simply an in-warranty way of accessing some of the benefits of CPU overclocking. Even so, it is a welcome add-on.
