Gigabyte X870 EAGLE motherboard listed for $229

Gigabyte’s X870 EAGLE motherboard becomes available to pre-order in the US

A new range of AMD AM5 motherboards is launching this month, adding more premium features to AMD’s newest motherboard platform. Now, Gigabyte’s new X870 EAGLE motherboard has been listed. The board has an asking price of $229.99 (at Amazon US – via Videocardz) and a release date of September 30th.

This motherboard features three M.2 SSD slots. One of these slots is PCIe 5.0 compatible, while the others are PCIe 4.0. This motherboard also features a PCIe 5.0 compatible x16 slot, which has a PCIe EZ-latch for easy GPU removal and USB4 connectivity through the motherboard’s great I/O.

With its 14+2+2 power phase design, this motherboard is ready for all of AMD’s AM5-compatible Ryzen processors, including AMD’s Ryzen 9000, 8000, and 7000 series processors. The board also features four DDR5 DIMM slots, supporting up to 256GB of memory. Memory speeds of up to DDR5-8000 are also supported in overclocked mode.

Networking-wise, this motherboard supports 2.5GbE wired connectivity and wireless connectivity through WIFI 7. It is likely to be one of the cheapest X870 AM5 motherboards available at launch, with AMD’s older 600-series AM5 motherboard acting as AMD’s lower-cost AM5 offering.
