Gigabyte's Z270 motherboard lineup leaks online

Gigabyte's upcoming Z270 motherboard lineup has been leaked online, showcasing enhanced feature sets over their Z170 counterparts.

Below we have images of five different Z270 motherboards from Gigabyte, from the high-end white Z270X Gaming 7 and Z270X Ultra Gaming to the more budget friendly Z270-HD3P, Z270XP-SLI and Z270M-D3H.

Looking at the Z270X-Gaming 7 we can see that Gigabyte has now added U.2 support to their motherboard, alongside dual M.2 support and reinforced PCIe lanes and DIMM slots. This new Aorus branded motherboard also features RGB illumination, with LEDs between DIMM slots, motherboard phases and even under your PCIe 16x slots.

With an angular white and black aesthetic, this motherboard will suit almost any system, with the angular IO cover looking very similar to Nvidia's GTX 10-series Founders Edition cooler designs.

With the Z270X-Ultra Gaming Gigabyte have opted for an all-black aesthetic with RGB illuminated highlights, allowing users of this motherboard to either allow this motherboard to blend seamlessly into a black chassis or become an illuminated centerpiece if the user wishes.

Like the Z270X-Gaming 7, the Ultra Gaming will sport two reinforced PCIe 16x slots, reinforced DIMM slots and U.2 storage support out of the box. This motherboard will feature only one M.2 slot, limiting this motherboard to only a single M.2 SSD.

With Gigabyte's budget oriented Z270 Ultra Durable lineup, the company has opted to drop U.2 support from the motherboard and use traditional PCIe and DIMM slots instead of the reinforced versions on their higher end models.

These new motherboards will come in at much lower prices than their higher end counterparts, likely coming in at the £90-150 price-range.

I asked for a black board and the Ultra delivers though I think it will be out of my price range for a whileQuote

Agreed!
Disappointed that the Ultra Gaming doesn't have dual M.2 however. Kind of kills it for me.Quote

Very nice, though that first one made me have to look twice to make sure it wasn't an Asus X99 Deluxe ! It's like they stole that and used the shaping from the 1080 Founders.Quote

Yeah, that's a little bit of a buzz kill. While I won't be using two M.2 drives at first, if I upgrade (either to Kaby Lake or Ryzen) I'll have the system for probably three years, so by then I might want another M.2 drive.Quote
